As suspected, five of the “Jena Six” took plea deals Friday. All except, Theo Shaw were fined $500, have to pay $500 in court fees and have seven days of probation. Shaw’s $500 fine was waived because he spent more than six months in jail. All must pay restitution to the victim, Justin Barker.

This was a sweat deal, that I think they deserved. I’m glad this case is finally closed. It makes me wonder how many other “Jena Six-like” cases are swept under the rug?

SabreeThinks had it not been for the media exposing this injustice all five young men would have gotten prison time.
